“Cause and Effect”, Master of Fine Arts Thesis Exhibition, Step Gallery, Arizona State University, 2017
My emphasis is on the fraternal connection and my relationship to my brother. This is brother-against-brother and becomes a broader metaphor for relationships and their outcomes on a global scale. My relationship with my brother fundamentally relates to this global scale. We have a positive-negative bond, and he generally takes a devil’s-advocate position toward me. I believe this relationship inspires passion and relates to current issues today. It is this passion that I wish to invoke and channel in my work through gestural expression.
